Find the Qibla in seconds
Open the app
Allow location so the app knows where you are.
Hold your phone flat
Keep it level and away from metal and magnets for the best accuracy.
Turn to the arrow
Face the direction the arrow points: that is the Qibla.
Find the Qibla direction from your location
The Qibla is the direction of the Kaaba in Makkah, which Muslims face during salah. Tap the button to use your location, or enter your coordinates, to see the Qibla direction in degrees from true North and your distance to the Kaaba.
This direction is measured from true North. To face it in real life, use a compass: the Qibla Compass app shows it as a live arrow on your phone, so you just turn until the arrow points ahead.
How to use a Qibla compass accurately
- Hold your phone flat. Keep it level, like a tray, so the compass can read the direction correctly.
- Move away from metal and magnets. Phone cases with magnets, speakers, cars and steel furniture can disturb the compass.
- Calibrate if needed. If the direction looks wrong, move your phone in a figure-of-eight motion a few times.
- Allow precise location. The app needs your location to calculate the exact angle to the Kaaba.
- Check twice when travelling. In a new hotel or city, re-check the Qibla before you pray.
Using a tasbih counter for dhikr
Dhikr, the remembrance of Allah, is often counted on prayer beads (tasbih or misbaha). A common practice after salah is to say SubhanAllah 33 times, Alhamdulillah 33 times and Allahu Akbar 33 or 34 times. A digital tasbih counter makes it easy to keep count wherever you are, with no beads needed. Simply tap to count, pick a preset of 33, 99 or 100, and keep your focus on the words rather than the number.
